En la Prehistoria se relaciona a la mujer con la preparación del alimento y la preservación de unas adecuadas condiciones de higiene y salud, asimismo con el cuidado del resto de los miembros del grupo.  Pero también  cazaban e intervenían en determinadas producciones como la de piedra tallada o metalurgia.
